The class-action lawsuit, filed in 2017, alleged that Belmont City improperly charged impact fees and system development fees as a condition of building a structure in the planning jurisdiction of the City, which violated the law of North Carolina.
Class members who paid impact fees or system development fees to the City of Belmont as a condition of building a structure in the planning jurisdiction of the City between October 10, 2014 and June 30, 2018.
