Short Description of This Case
The class-action lawsuit, filed in 2015, alleged that American Motor Company sent unwanted text messages to class members on behalf of Off Lease Only without permission, which violated the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (“TCPA”).
Class members who received a text message on cellphone from InstantCarOffer.com on behalf of Off Lease Only through the use of the Twilio platform, after placing an advertisement on craigslist.org in connection with the sale of a vehicle between September 4, 2011 and July 12, 2017.
